Well, I went a few years ago, I stayed in Hammamet, to cut a long story short, the hotel was really nice, and we went on some interesting day trips, however.. everybody you meet in the places you are likely to go as a tourist in the country will try to get money out of you, sometimes quite agressively, when you don't play along you get abuse. they will pretend to give you things for free and then expect you to give them money for it. Don't go in the medinas unless you want serious hassling and abuse (good looking european ladies especially will get treated very badly, which i witnessed first hand) When I said no to buying a carpet I was pointed at and told to give a guy money because I earn more than him! I was sworn at in another shop just because i didn't want to buy a lamp! they just view you as a rich foreigner, and are quite happy to try to rip you off at any opportunity, it's a form of upmarket begging. the culture was quite depressing as well, everything is half built and the high unemployment means that there are a lot of people just hanging around with nothing to do.

Sorry if that sounds opinionated but that's what I observed, but if you go then I hope you have a nice time.
no its a kip
Have to say I went, worst holiday I've ever had, got my money back from the rep, never do a package holiday again - my friend went, she loved every minute of it. Guess it depends what you want, if you like cheesy men, drunk rep parties and europop 24 hours a day then go for it, personally I'd rather shoot myself in the head.
No. Dirty smelly place where the men all stare.
Only if you get a a really good deal. Stay in Port El Kantoui or Sousse. Avoid Hammamet. 4 star hotels there are the equivalent of 2-3 star hotels in the UK. Also check local weather before you go.
Depends what you expect from a holiday. I spent a fantastic 2 weeks in Hammamet, hated Tunis though.
Don't go mate unless you go to Port El Kantoui. Heard lots of good reports of standard of hotels there . I was in a four star in hammamet and it was a disgrace me and the wife ended paying £90 each for the trip to the Sahara desert for a few days to get away from it which was brilliant it got u a overnight stay in a five star hotel with full dinner and breakfast buffet. Also included was the camel ride across the Sahara and we also visited matmata to see where star wars was filmed. When we got back to hammamet for the last few days tho we were so desperate to get back on the plane home . People there are very unfriendly especially shopkeepers who try to drag you into their shops to buy something at a extortionate price and Ive been to turkey so I'm used to haggling. One of them took us up to the roof of their shop to show us the view of the marina thinking he was being friendly we followed only to realise he was wanting my brand new
nokia phone and wanted it for him showing us the view. We told him to shove it and left quickly.
It really depends what you want and expect from your vacation.
I've been there 3 x and love it the culture the people are so nice the best experience. I was invited to 3 weddings while i was there. and lots of house visits which was great to really learn and see how people live. They even cooked us a head of a goat (IEUW) but it was a generous offer.
If you want to go clubbing drinking sleep with girls Yeah WRONG
I loved it and feel free to email me any questions
Dont go full of flies and sleazy men..Go to ICEMELER in Turkey beautiful place just come back we have friends who live there.come with us next year..xx
Tunisia is a beautiful country filled with history, culture, and variety. No matter which part of the country you decide to visit, you will have a unique experience.

The mountain region is very peaceful and calm. In the winter there is snow up there and a lot of people from Europe come to this region for hunting, camping, and other outdoor fun. I visited the city of Hammam Bourguiba last December (there wasn't snow when were there, but there was some before we were there and after we left). You can view pictures of this city:

In the south of the country is the Sahara. It is warm there year round and there are many interesting places to see there and many things to do. In the town of Gabes (close to, but not in the Sahara) there is a beutiful Oasis. This is the town my husband was born in and it holds a special place in my heart. It also has a gorgeous beach there - one of the prettiest in Tunisia!

In the middle of the country is where you can find most of your historical sites.Tunisia has the vastest Roman vestiges collection of the world! There is an Aqueduct that extends from Zaghouan to Carthage. The El Djem “colosseum” which outer walls are 120ft high and could receive 30,000 people making it the second-largest in the world only to Rome’s. The ancient town of Dougga, the Numide royal city romanized but that kept its old urban structure and its theatre, that resounds again when Greek-based classical plays and other performances are staged. Bulla Regia a site with at least 23 special features from the Roman, early-Christian and Byzantine periods and that still has vivid mosaics of wild animals and the chase, and recognizable remnants of a dining room, kitchen and bedrooms. Sbeitla, one of the country’s largest archaeological sites which numerous attractions include Roman temples and baths, early-Christian churches and Byzantine fortresses. Thuburbo Majus with its sumptuous mosaics, its thermal baths, its underground villas and its systems, astonishing of ingeniosity, of ventilation and air conditioning. And much more!

Northern Tunisis (namely Tunis) is famous in it's own right. Along with being the capitol city, it holds great history. The ancient capitol of the world, Carthage, is located in Tunis. For more on Tunis, see my (chosen best) answer about what to do in Tunis:

The whole eastern coast of Tunisia is beautil beach towns. Many people have suggested Sousse to you, so I suggest you look at my (also chosen best) answer about what to do in Sousse:

I live in Monastir, which is half hour away from Sousse. Monastir is a lovely and popular tourist attraction because our city is quiet, has beautiful beaches and close to the hussle and bustle of Sousse. I have pictures of Monastir that you may look at:
