I am in need of urgent of some advice on Mauritias Passports?

My Fiancee has to get a travel document to travel to Mauritius on 10th Oct because she has not renewed her Maurituan Passport. She has been told that she has to get two people in high positions to fill in a personal statement for her. is this true and if so, who can do it? and do they have to personally know them?

Answers:
Did this information come from the Mauritian High Commission? They are in the best position to know. I once had an expired UK passport when living abroad and the requirement was for a personal statement from one respectable British person who had known me for two years. I can't think that the Mauritian requirements are very different and suspect that statements from two professional Mauritian nationals who have known your fiancee for the requisite amount of time would be sufficient. Teachers, lawyers, doctors, dentists. see what she can come up with! Every Mauritian must be acquainted with a large choice of professional people, it being such a small and friendly island with such high educational standards.
It is really best not to listen to heresay and what people on here (who dont know for sure) will tell you. Contact the Maurition consulate in London and find out for sure.
Notary Public can do this, but there will be a charge.
