Has enyone been to darwin,nr lancaster and is it as bad as everyone says?

I have never been there but I tend to reserve judgement until I see the place myself. We all love a horror story and are not above a bit of exaggeration! lol
It is not near Lancaster it is between Blackburn and Chorley.
Its not exactly a fun place! Usual small town type of place.
and it's spelt darwen ! it is a nice little town in the foothills of the pennines

Darwen nr. Blackburn - yes
Darwen nr. Bolton - OK
Darwen nr. Preston - stretching it a bit

By the way, the local people call it Darren.
Darwen is about 5 miles from Blackburn, and to get to Chorley from Blackburn, you have to go in the opposite direction. Take a look at the map!
