Breadcakes?
is hull the only place in the country that calls rolls breadcakes? i'm from london but living in hull at the moment and i need to know, my gilfriend thinks they're called this everywhrere (sheltered life)

Not sure. Were not from England, but have heard the terminolgy 'barmcakes' in Lancashire and 'Butties'(which we thought was funny) in Liverpool.

In West Yorkshire were I come from we call small bread rolls, bread rolls, larger ones are teacakes, the ones with currants in are currant cakes, not every one in Yorkshire has the same name for them though, it tends to go by town really, over the hill in Lancashire I think they call them Barm cakes.
