Anyone got any horror stories about Aeroflot?
Answers:
The AirDisaster.com Accident Data reports that since 1953 there have been 127 accidents involving Aeroflot aircraft and 6875 fatalities (plus 20 people killed on the ground). There have been no fatal accidents since 23 March 1994, when an Aeroflot Airbus crashed in Siberia after the pilot allowed his 15-year-old son to take the controls. Since the early 1990s Aeroflot has considerably improved its safety record (see "A Face Lift for Down-at-Heel Aeroflot", New York Times, 7 April 2003]).
On 27 February 2005 an Aeroflot Tupolev Tu-154M landed on a taxiway at Barcelona International Airport, Spain, 250m to the right of its cleared runway 25R. (ref: Flight International, July 2005).

The sound of the engines compression during landing busts my ears for days on end. Their fleet of planes are a little two old
I heard this one but I don't know whether it's true. During the 1970s Aeroflot planes were used to evacuate a rural town in the old USSR. It was with the greatest difficulty that the crew managed to prevent the evacuees from bringing goats and even a cow with them. During one flight, cabin crew just managed to prevent one passenger from lighting a cooking fire in the aisle between the seats.
