Answers:
Birmingham has improved immensley over the past decade so don't be put off by what some people have written. They've obviously not been. For shopping definately head for the bullring. It's amazing. While you're there you can pop into Wagamammas (noodle bar) for lunch. The food is fantastic and very reasonabley priced. You get big portions too. You could go and see a show at the birmingham hippodrome. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is on at the moment - it's not just for kids! In the evening head down to The Mailbox for funky bars and restaurants. Expensive though so it depends on your budget. The Arcadian centre on hurst street is nice and has a good mix of bars and restaurants. I've been to the teppanyaki bar there which was good fun as they cook your food in front of you, throw it in the air etc.But for goodness sake stay away from Broad street! It's a mecca for hen and stag nights - you get the idea!! I could go on but just google birmingham tourist info and you'll get lots of sites. Try www.mybrum.co.uk for loads of info. Hope you have a good break.
Broad street is ace for food.. and bars
no I am going past it
There's always a down side to life
there are a few very exciting trees you could look at if you get bored
the icon gallery in birmingham ( Broad street) and the bullring and so laong as you're in town if you want a bite don't to McDonalds, instead try the NEW YORK DELI in paradise forum, where the library is, and you will be pleasantly suprised!
try millenium point. its got thinktank an other things for kids to do and its quite new. there is the art museum but not too sure where that is now. but millenium point is good. the sealife centre is near to that too.
Why?
Why the hell are you going to Birmingham !

They have the most annoying accent in the world.they all sound like banjo players !
??????WHY BIRMINGHAM?????
There are far nicer places to go and with much more to do and see. Perhaps re-think your plans for the bank-holiday and choose somewhere coastal maybe!
Why but why are you going to Birmingham in the first place???
take a trip to Warwick Castle, fantastic day out, period dressed stooges wandering around, loads of activities for kids, stunning grounds and a fantastic building and collection of torture equipment, gruesome but the kids will love it and healthier than cadbury world, no salmonella poisoning for a start! Enjoy, tons of restruants, depends what you are into.everything from MuccieDs to high class eateries, Brum has ecome well cosmopolitan. Have a great weekend
Don't listen to the Brummie Bashers!!
Birmingham is a great place to visit. The bull ring is beautiful and there are a few eateries by St Martin's Church. If you get chance you must visit The Bacchus which is a bar underneath the Burlington Hotel - Well worth a visit! Also Brindley Place is nice by the canals.
I suggest the people who are so quick to put down Brum, get of their asses and come to see how nice it is!
