What size is the hand luggage I can take on flights from the UK?
to avoid it being classed as hold luggage ?
Answers:
You need to check with the airline your flying with as i have just flown with easy jet and your hand luggage could be any weight as long as it fitted inside a box they had at check in. The box was quite large so easy jet allow you a generous size of hand luggage. I have also flown with Thomsons this year and was only allowed a small bag weighing no more than 5kg.
Hope this helps.
What is valid.
the size of a small vanity case
Check with you airlines website - they should list FAQ's
frequently asked questions and that issue should be addressed.
In the luggage section.
The allowance changes quite frequently these days because of changing security regulations. Each airline lists it's current allowance ,normally on it's home page, but sometimes on the flight-planner page. You just have to check before you travel to see if it's changed overnight. For example, laptops can be carried on again but a couple of weeks ago they had to go in the hold. I work in an airport and see dozens of people every day caught out because they didn't check the current allowance before they got to the airport. If things are taken off you at security your hold baggage will already be checked in, so you've got a problem that you could do without.Always check first..
I would check with your airline as to what the correct size is for the flight, as every airline is different depending on the type of aircraft that you are traveling in.
I work for a travel company and the hand luggage should be a small bag weighing no more than 5kg.
You need to check with the airline that you are flying with, try their website. Each airlines requirements vary slightly and they are being really strict with all the problems lately.
