Don't 737's seem to be dropping like flies this year.?

Answers:
no..
No more than any other year!
Funny you say that, one just dropped into my backyard
Not what you want to read when there is an advert for Thomson Holidays on this page to the left!
Not really, wasn't it last year when they were dropping like flies?
They are the most used short haul passenger aircraft. They are used all over the world. Properly maintained, they are also one of the safest planes in the world. The main trouble is that the original ones are getting on a bit.

Like old cars, there comes a point with planes when it's cheaper to replace them than keep paying the repair bills. Instead of taking them to the breakers, there's a thriving market for old bangers in the developing world. They get our old cast-offs, keep them flying with sticky tape and bits made by the village blacksmith until, inevitably, they fall out of the sky.

If you're flying out of airports in the UK, US or western Europe, safety checks are mandatory and the condition of the plane is the least of your worries. If you're flying with a third world airport and you see the pilot carrying a large box of rubber bands - don't get on.
Good piont but half the crashes have been in Nigeria and what was the couse for that Greek plane that crashed and killed evryone. US aussies have herd nothin about that
I think what you have been hearing is the failure of a couple 737-100/200 versions made in the 60s probably. All owned and operated by dodgy 3rd world airlines. Modern 737 's have an excellent safety record, by the way ther CAA have a ban list of countries who cannot fly into the UK because of the quality of thier aircraft and poor maintenance
No. I don't think that at all. I haven't seen very many. Mostly the Turpelov 54s in Russia have been falling a lot.

That and dumb pitchers flying into buildings.
