What is the best time of year to visit Japan?

Answers:
My sister live sin japan and she loves year round. If you are trying to avoid nasty weather, spring/summer would be best. If you are looking to participate in specific activities- it denpends on what they are.scuba diving is beautiful over there and best done when the water is warmer- summer. The cherry blossoms are soemthing to see. for that, it depends on which part of Japan you are going to. I would check online. You can google the phrase, "best time of year in Japan" and come up with tons of information. Oh- spring and fall are the mildest seasons if you wnat to avoid heat and humidity.
When all the Japanes are on overseas holiday
When all of the Cherry blossoms are out
I never have been there but I bet that Springtime would be pretty.
Definately during the Cherry Blossom Festival for the area of Japan you want to visit..

They bloom earlier in the south compared to the north.

any one of the 365 days of the year.great country fantastic people.
I went in October. It is warm enough with very sunny days. Whatever time of year you go, there are torrential rain storms, at least one a day. Thats why they all have umbrellas all the time.
I would say go to Osaka area in mid-April nice weather and the sakura are in bloom. however Plane tickets are pretty expensive that time of year.
um. Anytime. maybe try April, because that is the charryblossom season and it is soo beautiful!

MAybe avoid June.it is hot and it is 梅雨(Tsuyu) the rainy season
i mean now is just the best time all the festivals sre in progress hello like i live in japan thats why i know
Not in the summer! Trust me. Go in the spring.
In the spring time when there's sakura(cherry blossoms).
I went in November..

lovely weather, no rain, not too cold and magnificent fall colours as the leaves turned.. many temples are designed around autum colours.. plus it is the cheap "off" season.

as others mentioned also. sakura festivals in the spring
In my opinion there are two times that are brilliant tio visit Japan!
One ie durin March-April time when spring is arriving after cold winter. You will have a chance to see "sakura", cherry blossoms which are abosilutely gorgeous!. These are beautiful pink blossoms which only come out 4 around a week or so a year. So are very special. The Japanese like to celebrate this, by drinking sake, having parties, picnic outside and admiring the sakura.

The other time is Autumn, Sept-October-Nov time. The Autumn leaves are equally beuatiful. especailly against the backdrop of a blue clear sky! Great!! The air is clear and crisp too! And generally it is jus a lovely time of year to b in Japan.

These two times are both great for visiting Japan. They also have special food they eat at these times too. Sakuramochi which is pounded rice flavoured with sakura leaves.

Have fun:)
