Where's the best place to stay (relatively cheaply) in Hong Kong?
I'm taking my mum on holiday next summer and am looking for a nice hotel for the two of us to stay in (twin room) for about £400 for 9 nights.
Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated, either specific hotels, recommended neighbourhoods or even websites offering discounted rooms.
Thanks!
Answers:
Hotels in HK are quite pricey. But there is a good one which is located at the heart of Kowloon city, particularly in Tsim Sha Tsui. It is the YMCA, Salisbury Hotel. It is not the usual YMCA found in the USA. This is a decent hotel with standard rooms and suites. They offer the best rates and I am sure is within your budget. And best of all, it is right at the centre of everything. Very conveniently located.

Enjoy your holidays with your mum!

Trip Advisor is really great for this kind of thing. Think of Yahoo! Answers, only specifically about places people have stayed.
HK hotel is very pricey. There are very cheap "motel" in Mong Kok and Kowloon city. However, those are risky because lots of them are designed for "sexual transaction". Also, lots of shadow people live there. They probably won't do anything to you but it is risky.
Try the Hotel at Prince Edward. It is $600 HK dollars per night so around 85$ in US or try the YMCA hotel.
