Would it be too hot to go sightseeing in Australia in December?
I plan to visit Australia on honeymoon for 2-3 weeks in November or December. My fiancee and I would like to see all the most popular tourist landmarks within that time and have a generally relaxing, fun honeymoon. Would the weather in Australia be too uncomfortably hot to do this in mid-December? Would it be more comfortable to see Australia in mid-November instead?
Answers:
I live in Australia the north part of Australia especially is usually very hot and muggy. Up the top of Queensland you can get a lot of box jelly fish which are very deadly and you have crocodiles up the way. So swim in the beaches and fresh water can be dangerous. Most of up there is air condition and pools.
Down the southern part of Australia are fine, just might have a few storms around that time of the year. Hope that help.
it's the peak of Australian summer
It depends where in Australia. But really it won't be too hot. January is much hotter!!
If you're planning on visiting the beautiful Sydney.. then December temps will range between 25 degrees Celcius and 35 degrees. But November will usually be about 2 or 3 degrees cooler..
Hope that helps!
shouldn't you be indoors in the air-conditioned hotel room most of the time on your honeymoon? it'll be fine. people live there during December, so you know it's bearable.
Nope depending where you go do.
Eastern States are ok but the further UP north or Cental you go the hotter. But we do have Airconditioning everywhere yes even in Cars.
Take care!
Take shorts and drink water, go swimming a lot and you should be fine! It is hot, but I could cope with it.
It all depends on the locations..some places could be in the 40s, others could be in the 20s. Just so you know Australia isnt blistering hot everywhere, it is only like that in the outback..so if you go to a famous icon like Uluru it will be very hot there, but if you go to see the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the temerature would only me mild.
Good luck on your honey moon, and you have picked the best place in the world for it!
Definitely mid-November. Not quite summer yet.
Have you thought about coming next march/april? April is perfect because it's off peak season for travel so it'll be cheaper and the weather is just gorgeous down south at that time.
