I'd love to hear what 'Utopia' means to you?
Answers:
perfect existence.
is that a country?
'No place' - Thomas More, in describing his idea of a perfect state (Which actually sounds pretty nasty to me) was being ironic, he thought it unattainable.
Utopia? A song by Goldfrapp. It's on their first album.
My husband home & not having to travel for work. My family living much closer than 2 states away.
Utopia is an idea of a perfect country that can never be realized.
To me, it's a world with no greed, no hunger, no war, where people can all co-exist in harmony & celebrate our differences. I mean, why can't we all just get along? *apparently that's one of the most overused lines in movies - useless info* Sadly though, this could never be a reality .
It would be like painting your perfect picture, been able to step inside it and live there for eternity.
to me it would mean a little cottage in the country with great views, where my cats could end thier days in peace, an aston martin db9 in the garage and money in the bank
This life, this world now to be honest.
Utopia is a place where people with disabilities are accepted for who they are-- where they can freely mingle with the more able ones, treated as a brother and a friend, earning a decent wage for a full day's job, living with dignity, and loved unconditionally.
this Utopia is where I'd one day like to be. a place where love and respect dictate the norms of society-- then it would finally be normal to have differing levels of ability, and be one and the same with all-- a citizen, a brother, a sister.
i allowed this Utopia to exist in my mind and heart. if i believe enough in it, if i think hard enough about it, it would one day come true.
john lennon's imagine is what i mean by utopia.

Hmmm.
An unattainable heavenly place or state, even.
My feet are firmly planted. I haven't got such aspirations.
Life is what you make it and you are master of your own destiny.
Is it the equivalent of the Holy Grail to some?
Disappearing into the shadows on a fruitless expedition?
Hello Oliver! How's our star bowler? I equate Utopia with unity.
The dictionary defines it as: An ideal state or place.
I think that for me Utopia would not be impossibly perfect. I think Utopia is about finding inner peace and knowing that no matter what comes your way you can deal with it. Utopia is believing that anything is possible. It's about following your heart and embracing the passion that drives you. It’s about acceptance of yourself and those around you. It’s about valuing and appreciating what is good in the world. It’s about giving rather than taking. It’s about helping rather than hurting. It’s about loving rather than hating.
But I don't think that Utopia would include only happiness, because if you were never sad.how would you know what happiness is? Everything wouldn't be easy, because if you never faced a challenge how could you appreciate success?
Utopia is not impossible, it's not extreme, it’s a choice to create balance.
Wishing you a stupendous Saturday Oliver.
For me, Utopia is this:
Beauty graces the gentle soul
and with eyes wide open
that is all that I see. A voice
of love is all that I hear
through the echoes of music
encompassing my every thought.
Within every moment
happiness abounds as we
are here, now. So run
with the wind as it blows
through the leaves in the
trees, and kiss in the rain
as it falls upon you like tears
from long ago pain. Sing
your music with the voice
from within that carries
warmth and comfort to
the heart, and touch
whomever you can through
any means so that we may
reflect that which is felt
by us all.
*Ah, if only everyone could feel this way.
Something to strive for. An aim in life! A goal which will probably never be realised.
