East Anglia is a great place. You have Constable Country, the beach and sea along the Norfolk/Suffolk coast, with Great Yarmouth having a fantastic beach/sea front, and great funfair at the Pleasure Beach - much of the resort is geared to the holiday industry. At Hopton you have Pleasurewood hills that is much like Alton Towers. There are lots of country markets in both Norfolk and Suffolk, especially good is Norwich that is also a great city with lots to see and do. The North Norfok coast is very picturesque for those quieter less active days and the Norfolk Broads are just wonderful. Nearby you have Cambridge with all the Universities etc. You could do worse that taking a holiday in the area.
Hope this helps and wherever you go have a fun time.
Portsmouth is great! There's the naval base with historical ships such as HMS Victory and HMS Warrior, plus some remains of the Mary Rose, the beach and funfair, arcades, boat trips round the harbour, D-Day museum, Gunwharf designer shopping outlet with the Spinnaker Tower which boasts views of the entire city, Brighton is only an hour's drive away, as is London, there's a market in the town centre every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.the list is endless. Google Portsmouth in Hampshire, I'm sure you won't be disappointed!!
I live in Lancashire and I would recommed Blackpool, there are lots of things to do, it has the funfair you are after and markets, lots of shows all year, it's worth a visit to the world famous FunnyGirls Show, a great night out! At this time of year they also have the alluminations which are spectacular. There is also the zoo, beeches, casino's, etc. It's an easy bus ride to St Annes which is a small town but very beautiful, has great second hand shops the the best Fish and chips as recommed by Gordan Ramsey!
Skegness - but particularly Ingomelds. You could stay at Butlins (the half board option has improved over recent years) and its only a short bus ride to Ingomelds which has a funfare and a market - in fact the funfare and the market share the same site so its a bonus. If your rich you could get a taxi there - personally we walk - Its a yorkshire thing
Skegness. Great place, our family has been 6 times and we all really enjoy it, havent been for 2 years now but were definately going back in the summer. The beaches are lovely and clean and theres plenty of fun things to do for all ages, just a short bus trip takes you to fantasy island which has a huge funfair and outdoor market all in the one spot.
