Oops, had to edit my answer.. On many flights you can take cosmetics on the plane. anything 3 oz or less. whatever fits comfortably in a one-quart plastic bag. On British Airways, however you are still not allowed to take liquids, gels or pastes. You're allowed only one bag, pack your handbag in your carry-on. The carry-on size allowed on British Airways is smaller. only 56cm x 25cm x 25 cm (That's 22" x 17.75" x 9.85")
Check the British Airways site for more details and see if they relax their rules as you get closer to your flight: http://baa.com/

no make up u'll just have to look like a hound on the plane, doll!
where are you flying from, England officials will not allow you on board a flight with any liquid substances, ie mascara. But I flew them before and a handbag was allowed along with a cabin bag. But if your not sure, just phone BA customer service desk and they will advice you on what you can and cant take, seeing as it's all changed in the last 6 months. I don't think you'll experience any probably with make up - the stewardess have to look pretty!
Revised Hand baggage restrictions for UK departing flights
British Airways is implementing revised measures, introduced by the UK government's Department for Transport, with effect from Friday September 22, 2006.

The new measures allow all air travellers departing from a UK airport to carry onboard ONE larger industry standard-sized bag, no bigger than 56cm x 45cm x 25cm.

Please note:Other bags, such as handbags, may be carried WITHIN the single item of cabin baggage.

In addition, customers who need to carry with them musical instruments may now carry them through security search provided they can be x-rayed.

Restrictions still apply on items allowed through security carried in a cabin bag.

The following items must NOT be carried in the cabin bag:

Liquid cosmetics
All toiletries
All liquids
All drinks
I am guessing that you are travelling long distance. I suggest you use the airline toilet bag. It usually contains some moisturisers and lip gloss. Have just the odd eyeliner that can double as a lip liner in your handbag or hand luggage. I find that just a little make up is better than non. The rest of the war paint can come on in the cab as travel to your destination.
As from November 6 you are allowed to take liquids ie foundation, pastes, gels etc up to a max. of 100ml but they must be put in a clear plastic bag for inspection so you should be OK with your make up
Nope... I'm flying to the states and i cannot carry make up in my hand luggage.... best going bare faced and wear dark glasses lol
British Airways is very strict of them all. I would not bring anything at all with you when it comes to liquids. I flew from London to Minnesota, USA and lost everything that I had with me. From toothpaste, Lip Balm to Contact supplies. They took it all. Put medication in a clear baggie. You should really not wear makeup on a flight anyways. It is gonna come off in flight anyways..
