Yes I have - and I tokk some photographs which are a permanent reminder of man's inhumanity to man. The visitors centre, crypt and the village are a place that is once seen, never forgotten. I am so glad that it has been retained as a tribute and a reminder of barbarism.

I just cannot imagine the terror of those who died nor the horror of those who came home on the train to find there lives were destroyed.

I still ask myself how could anyone do that to women, children, the elderly, sick and disabled ? It is a reminder of why we need to participate in conflicts now - to stope barbaric dictatorships from destroying communities and ways of life,

I do wonder what happened to the guys who did this - it is possible that they are still alive, I wonder how they feel - do they remember it every day? I wonder if they have ever found peace?
why
The waffen ss killed the village mostly by burning the people in the church. Not a pretty site and a reminder of how miserable human can be.
