Where is the best place to go walking in the hills near the England Wales border?
I am of average fitness level and wanting to go on a 1/2 to 1 day walk. We are occasional walkers.

bath is very beautiful with many nice walks. but for true hill and mountain climbing go to Ireland. England is so flat

I know for a fact that the Wye Valley in south Monmouthshire is very nice, some of the climbs can be very steep tho! Look up the Wye Valley Walk.
I can suggest the Wye Valley, there are caves to explore there as well.
The Brecon Beacons. Beautiful scenery, sheep wandering around, and the lovely old town of Brecon.
