Would i be able to find a job if i go to San Francisco on a tourist visa?
I have six years experience in the advertising industry, would i be able to find work, if i first enter on a travel visa? I am interested in Web 2.0 companies and wonder if it is a good idea or bad, to look for work while on a travel visa?
Any advice?

You would be able to find one - but they won't hire you with a tourist visa. Get yourself a work visa, then you don't have to worry about la migra.

I would imagine you would have to have a working Visa, I know my hubby did when he worked there, but he was employed by a US firm and had the job b4 he went there.
You can't work legally on a tourist visa, so anyone unscrupulous enough to employ you might also be unscrupulous not to pay you since you won't have any recourse. This happened to a friend of mine from Argentina. You'll be taking a big chance if you try and do this.
You need a working visa for that.

Never a bad idea to look for work, just be aware that 1/2 the planet wants to live in San Francisco and the best and brightest are always fighting it out for the openings.
Try it, you might find out you qualify !

You can do everything from send flowers, to booking a vacation all around europe, tickets to any show or event even sporting events. It is possible. If you have an awesome portfolio, this would be a good time to make some contacts and meet some people and show them your work. Any company that hired you would have to sponsor you for a work visa. I think the tourist visa would be a great time to meet some people face-to-face.
