Moving into a rental property in areas like Clapham, Putney, Camden or so may be a good way to get started. The housing market is crazy right now, prices are shooing up fast - and have for such a long time that one can easily waste money now on a property that may pull back quite a bit over the next over the next year or 2.
If you have some cash to spare, you could buy a 3 bedroom place and get 2 room mates and rent the place to each for more than 33% of the mortgage payment.
Move from London would be a better idea to the outskirts. London is way to expensive and you wont make much money if you buy and will be throwing money down the toliet if you rent.
Why on earth would you want to move to London? It`s a complete sh*thole! Full of rats and rubbish.
good luck buying a flat - they're going up by almost £100k per month average in the best areas because there are a load of City boys expecting £million+ bonuses this Feb!
Moving in with flatmates is often the best way for moving to London, the rent gets shared between the tenants and is a good way to getting to know new people and make new friends, however remember that the place wont be yours and sharing can be a burdon and you may not like a certain flatmate so if you want a place of your own then getting your own flat would be best, and remember jobs in London are paid better so the living cost arent such an increase
if u r single try to go out with someone who lives in london
a) but make it flat mates as property will cost an arm and a leg.
Hey dude dont worry, I know what you thinking. I was in your position a while back. don't listen to the people who have no guts to do something brave about being in London. If you need help mail on my mail address also, what nationality are you? Just for visa purposes I ask. If you willing to do what it takes then you can succeed. Also for a start you can manage if you hook up with some flatmates because they'll know the ropes and you'll have good times also, but seriously mail me if you want help.
London is an amazing city, there are of course the expensive areas, some areas of north London arent too expensive and there are some nice areas of East London that are becoming very trendy and up-market, like Docklands, Canary Wharf.
If you are looking for a cheap place stay away from west London and areas around Hampstead and Chelsea.
