Can anyone tell me if there is a direct train from Madrid to Grenada, and where I can find a timtable/price?
I have looked at the Renfe website but that doesn;t seem to help! I want a return journey from madrid, on the 28th of Dec and 3rd of Jan! Come on people theres a challenge!

I think trains from/to Madrid Granada are not direct; you can check renfe.es, anyway. But, why travelling by train from Madrid to Granada having to get off and on in a new one when there´s a wonderful bus service between the two cities? I have travelled from/to Madrid to/from Granada a number of times and the trip is only 5 hours (with a 1/2 an hour break at a bar/restaurant for coffee or just to stretch your legs); There are buses almost every hour and the service is really good. You can check timetables in this web: www.continental-auto.es and a wonderful thing is that you have the language option by clicking on the flags you´ll find on the upper right part.
I've been to Grenada and its a bloody nice place (go to the Alhambra) and very hot too. Not sure about the train but I'd reckon you could go direct.
here is a link that should help.
You just punch in when and where you want to go.
