In my experience, when I've book a hotel room direct, I've never been asked my age. All they want is a valid credit card. As for Expedia, I'm over 18 so I've never really noticed. can't your "parents" book it for you :) I doubt Expedia is going to research your true age. it's just so that they aren't held liable because of your age. (I mean, seriously, teens go on holiday all of the time. I travelled Europe when I was 17!)
Just make sure to have your hotel booking, return flight, and proof of financial ability to support yourself ready for Immigration once you hit the Florida Airport. Once you're past them; ENJOY!
If you lover is over 18 then let him / her book the hotel. If somebody has to ask just tell that a relative of you died and s/he here for the funeral.
any hotel should let an 18 year old book a hotel as long as you have a credit card (which most require anyway to cover any extra charges you may make). All the hotels I've seen say 18+, so that would mean that 18 is ok. If you don't have a credit card I'm sure it'd still be ok if the hotel allows the room to be paid in a different way.
