In what time of the year it does very cold there in England?

They say that there in England does very cold in a time of the year, they say that in that time is so cloudy that the people cannot see a meter ahead. I am asking for an information there about the cold in the united kingdom, because, I am intending to travel to know that country.

Answers:
It generally starts getting cold at the end of October but this year hasn't been too bad so far as 15 degrees C in the South is considered mild! Winter months are from November to January but it can still be cold upto April. Have a look at the BBC site for current weather conditions & for general outlooks: http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/ukweather/.
Happy travelling!
The coldest times seem to be january to march. It was very warm and sunny today but the temp will drop in November, but not freezing, just chilly. The cloud is the mist in the morning, it's rarely like that !. Yes, maybe quite a few freezing foggy mornings you cannot see a meter ahead but that is severe bad weather, don't worry,!. Come in May time and enjoy the start of Summer. It was 26-36 degrees most of June/july this year so not as bad as people think, the weather is still ovely at the moment and we're almost in winter (l live in the south). If you come in the winter, bring a pair of glvoes and scarf - like any country in the winter. Hope you have a fun trip.
It never gets really, really cold. Worst is usually about minus 5 or 6 possible November through Feb. The cloudy bit is silly. This refers to the 1950's when we used to have (in London) what were called "pea-soupers" and this was caused by too much smoke. We get fog, but it comes and goes. Best times are about March through Sepetember. You cannot beat an English Spring morning!
