Has anyone been to Marrakech? what cheap sleep would you recommend? what do you think of the transport ?

No! Bad sleeping in Marrakesh. He is plent thiefs and low ladies. You will rob by them and cut neck!
Hotel/Cafe de France cost me 5/-(25p) per night in 1965.
Still looked cheap in 1998 when I was staying in the Sheraton.
It's in the very centre overlooking the main square.
Used taxis-not too bad.

If you stay within the Medina then you should be able to walk to most places. taxis are readily available and are inexpensive.
To really get a feel for Marrakech, you MUST stay in a RIAD. They are fantastically decorated and are a real haven from the noise and mayhem outside.
Check out www. riadsmorocco.com for a list of Riads to suit all budgets! We booked with them and had a fab time! Ask the house manager to make a meal for you and eat on the roof terrace!
