Any recommendations for hotels in Chicago, close to all attractions.?

Answers:
I live in the far western suburbs and my wife and I travel into the city and stay on Michigan Avenue all the time.

We always buy a room on Priceline.com and have never paid more than $60 for a four to five star hotel (Westin, Embassy Suites, Sheraton, Marriott, etc).

That really is your best bet.
if you can afford it, the Palmer House is one of the most beautiful hotels in Chicago!
Either that or the downtown Hilton. gorgeous!
When I go to Chicago I love the newly rebuilt Park Hyatt. It's a gorgeous hotel and sits right on Michigan Avenue at the Water Tower. Staying here puts you right in the heart of the shopping district and very close to the Lake and Rush Street. The Loop, Millennium Park, The Art Institute, Shed Aquarium and other attractions are still very walkable or short cab rides away. If you prefer to be closer to the Loop the Renaissance or House of Blues Hotel are both great.
Yahoo travel has a suggestion on the popular hotels in Chicago! First of all in choosing a hotel the budget is of primary consideration! Whether you want a 3, 4 or 5 star.
Write ups claim that each one of them is near Lake Michigan & downtown.
I had been to different 5 star hotels in the Philippines through the courtesy of drug companies. I enjoyed places with the view & its proximity to downtown. However, it will depend on whether you want the view or really in the heart of downtown Chicago.
Before travelling, I make a schedule of activities I am supposed to do. Study the places I want to visit & list down all the address & tabulate its website & hours they are open & how much would it cost me.
Yahoo travel offers giving the top10 popular attractions of a place & top 10 popular hotels. There are reviews there & a map which will help you.
