Mauritius.. where are the must see places to check out?

I'm going there with my son next month and wanted to maybe climb a small mountain with him or something.. I don't really want to scuba dive though as the holiday cost a fortune and the courses wil be about £400 each on top of that.
any ideas of suggestions as to what to do/see aside from lying on a beach? Thanks

i went there about a month ago and it was awesome.there is an area that is covered in different couloured sands(very beautiful).there is a hindu lake you can visit and volcanic craters.also check out the port luis craft market for bargains.and go on a trip to one of the islands like ile aux cerfs

Mauritius sounds great. there will be lots of activities for you 2 to do there, snorkeling (free) touring (by foot-free) i guaranee you that you 2 wont just sit on the beach doing nothing all day. try going to google and searching for mauritius.
