Has anyone stayed in the all star resort in disney.its alot cheaper than the other disney hotels .?

I stayed in the all-star resort in 1999. It was a nice hotel, very unique. It had a football field as a court yard complete with huge helmets. The rooms are just like any other hotel except with the sports theme. They also had 2 sport themed dinning areas one just a small grab and go kind of place and the other is a sit down. The only thing that was a negative but not a huge problem was that the monorail does not go through there. However they do have buses that will take you and pick you up from the parks. Overall I would rate the hotel a 9 out of 10. Have fun!!
Yes, All Star, Movies, and Music resorts are the cheapest in the Disney Resorts. However, for the time you will spend in the room, it is quite comfy for a family of four and worth the money. I enjoyed those resorts and I have stayed in several of them..
Hi
They are quite basic but with every thing to do what more do you need as someone said no mono rail but the disnsey buses go everywhere so keep the car parked. Would totally recommend as good value and comfy
yes we have stayed at all star sports twice 2001,2002 also movies in 2003 out of them we liked movies the best yes it is fairly cheap and it is comfortable seeing you only sleep there i cant see the point in spending alot on a room when you will hardly be in it and it had everything we needed ,yes the disney buses can be a bit of a problem but it didnt bother us we are going to pop century this year on 30th november for 2 weeks thought we have a change this year
Yes, I have. The Disney All Star Resort is Disney's Value Resort. Rooms typically range from $120/night and up. This is much cheaper than a Deluxe Disney Resort, which could cost you anywhere from $375/night on up.
The All Star is a fun resort, especially if you will be traveling with small children. The themed resorts (music, movies, sports, pop culture) make it fun, you get the same great Disney service as you would with any Disney Resort, and you still get all the perks of a Disney hotel including free transportation and free package delivery to your hotel. There was only one thing that I did not like about the All Star, and that involves the way the rooms are designed. In every other Disney Resort, you have to enter a lobby and then your rooms are on the interior of the building. At the All Star, your door leads directly outside. It can be a bit noisy during the day. But we spent so much time out and about that it didn't matter where we laid our heads when we crashed at night.

We stayed at the All-Star Music, once. It was cheaper, but the rooms were smaller and not as magical. But, if you are not going to spend a lot of time at the room, it is fine.
yes it is cheaper.

Often longer lines at check in.. and can be a lonnnggg way to get to the Disney bus from your room, but compared to the walking in the theme park this is short.

the Disney buses to and from the theme parks are usually more crowded than those that go to Cornodo springs, wilderness lodge, port Orleans,,, etc.. esp at closing time.

also, these are farther away from the magic kingdom, epcot, and Disney's MGM too
so a longer bus ride.

closer to animal kingdom and sports,,,

.
the pools, usually two at each all star, are nice too, but it does get cold in the fall and winter in Orlando sometime 30's and 40's too cold for the outdoor pool.

usually no character breakfast, lunch or dinner there as well
but that can be done in each of the theme parks as well i believe,.

food is usually cheaper there as well.. not a sit down fancy restaurant there either more like a buffet or fast food. .not the best wines either.
for that I recommend artist point at wilderness lodge, cedar planked salmon.
I also like the restaurants and the Polynesian and grand Floridian
.
.
the all star resort are a good value and me and my daughter have stayed at them more than all the rest of the Disney resorts. however my personal favourite is wilderness lodge and coronodo springs..
.
.
OH,
when riding the monorail the magic kingdom to epcot or epcot to magic kingdom, ask to ride in the front with the driver.
better still,,,
from the transportation center to magic kindgom,,, it goes thru the contemporary resort.
may have to wait a train or two - kids will love it tho!

Enjoy.

I recently had a Disney vacation in September, staying at the All Star Music. I loved the decorations as you're walking through - huge jukeboxes, and bongo drums, etc. However, it was quite a trek from the lobby to our room! A quick suggestion: check out your room's vicinity to the other All Star Hotels. Our room at the Music hotel was right across from the All Star Sports lobby. We just caught the bus there, instead of walking further to our lobby. Worked great after treking a full day at the theme park.

I was more than satisfied with the room, comfy beds, hair dryer and iron/ironing board included in the room, as well as a safe. We stayed for a week, and loved it.

Also, a few of their meal options rivaled those of the more expensive restaurants on the park grounds! The fajitas are wonderful!!

Hope you have a great time!
yeah, damn site cheaper
I have stopped in the Movies resort and we had a fab time. However a year later we stopped at Pop Century which is another value resort and usually the same price as the All Star resorts. We loved Pop Century even more and would recommend this over the All Star resorts- the buses were more frequent, there is a choice of 3 pools, it was newer, we also found the location was better too. I would highly recommend Pop Century- it is great value for money and we did not feel like we were staying at a value resort. Whilst stopping at Disney I would highly recommend buying the resort refillable mugs-especially if you are staying for a few days or more. I would also not recommend going to parks to take advantage of the extra magic hours- the last time I went to Walt Disney World it seemed like everyone in the park was a resort guest and it seemed much more busier than the days we went to parks on non-extra magic hour days.

Have a magical holiday.
yes, pop century is nicer but also harder to get a room at, they fill up quickly and often have big groups there, like school bands or cheerleaders. if you cant get into pop, then any of the all stars are good, comfortable and cheap. its only worth it to stay at a nicer resort if you have time to spend there
