What is the best way to take currency to the US?

Answers:
$50 in cash to get you through the first night (taxis, dinner, breakfast etc). Use your debit card to withdraw cash from ATM's.
using an armoured car
If you mean cheapest, it's best to spend on your credit card as the exchange rate tends to be better.
use a travellers cheque card
open a Citibank direct current account and pay money in.Withdraw as needed at ATM's in USA.Exchange rate is best you will get-plus you get 4% interest on the money in your account.2nd best would be $s from M&S as their exchange rate is market best for cash/TC's in UK.
ATM Card.
Well, if it's under $10,000 cash you won't have to declare it! seriously, I like travelers' cheques and a credit card, it's easier, and if either gets lost you can either be reimbursed or place a stop order on it so you aren't out of anything or financially damaged too much.
if its under $10000 US then use a money belt
Screwed up into a little ball and stuffed up your knicker legs. But someone will still find it...
