For Italians. I went to Rome, why were there loads of t-shirts and posters of Mussolini in tourist shops?

Rome was brilliant, first time I’ve been. However I was surprised there were loads of caps, posters and other tourist stuff depicting Benito Mussolini. People can sell and buy what they want but I’m surprised the former dictator and murderer was being celebrated. I’ve never been to Berlin but I can't imagine there’s similar items in tourist shops depicting there fascist past.

Answers:
History, Mussolini era will never be erase
so Italians might as well celebrate it and be happy that it is gone
and learn from
hidding it will not help
It is because he was such a good looking guy.
well it was a long dry spell between Caesar & El Duce, you have to go with what you have.
cuz he was italian dummy.Hes like Che Guevera for Italians.
beacouse the people who sell that stuff is simply stupid
The fact that the tourist shops were selling souvenirs of Il Duce doesn't mean that they were applauding him in any way. It's simply an indication of what tourists want to buy. And obviously, they can hardly get enough of it! The revolutionary Che Guevara, is equally popular among tourists to Cuba. I expect that if Madame Tussaud's in London started marketing souvenirs based on the Chamber of Horrors they'd find a ready market. I hope they don't!
Dear ,Mussolini was less dictator than Bush and other former president he made a good job in central ans south Italy and eliminate mafia (that came back with the americans coruptions)
- instore social security and houses for big familly etc.
so mr.mussolini was the best.
