Do you need a visa for egypt! i live in the UK?
Answers:
As far as I am aware, UK passport holders need visas for every country they visit outside the EU- this includes Egypt.
You should be given the visa to fill out on the plane when you are going there- its a small green form.
When going to Egypt- please make sure you go to the doctors before hand and get him to give you all the vaccinations you need- you will need these not only for your own health when travelling to Egypt- but again for the Visa. This is imperative- a friends of mine mother's went to Egypt, and because she was born there she didn't have any vaccinations when travelling back- she caught some disease fairly common over there and it killed her.
Also, make sure you don't do any independant travelling as it can be very dangerous over there for tourists, stick to holiday reps and dont go out of the resort without them.
Hope that helped.
yes you do!! but dont worry about it, they normally giv you the papert to fill out on the plane, well... they did when i went last month! make sure all you visit the doctors though to get your jabs done!
Depends,
for a holiday: NO
to live there : yes
yes you do
yes you do but i have never heard of one being refused
Yes. I went on a holiday and the tour operator charged £20. I did not need to do anything and at the airport in egypt, a rep was there to meet me before customs/passport control and the passport just got a stamp. Very easy.
No, you need to complete a simple visitors card which they bring round in the plane.
You don't need any jabs either.
They will try to sell you a visa when you get through passport control, but you don't need it.
What's the point in going somewhere and never leaving the resort?
We took my 5 year old daughter and went into Sharm by taxi in the evenings, no problem, experience the local culture don't stay in a bloody resort.
Yes, you need a camel too!
I got my visa's from the Egyptian Embassy in London. If you are going on a nile cruise whatever happens don't touch the salads and don't take ice in your drinks. 95% of people who do nile cruises end up with dodgy guts
If you are a citizen of the UK, you can get your visa once you land. There is a fee of 15-18 GBP. If you are staying within the sinai peninsula, you don't need to pay for the visa. If you want to get the visa in advance (it may speed things up at the border) you can go to the embassy in London. Also, they may ask for a passport photo when you land, so it will help to have one with you when you fly.
depends what your nationality. British needs it, but, you can fill the paper work once you are landed, and they will give you on the spot. But you can always get it before hand, which is more expensive then get over there. The Visa is two little stamp looking paper which they stick on your passport.

Been twice and never filled out a form on the plane but have bought visas at the airport. Think it was £20 and they excepted Stirling.
Went alone and although the local guys were a little creepy,I definitely didn't feel threatened and would totally disagree that you shouldn't travel independently or leave the resort. What's the point of going all that way and staying in one place?
YOU BETTER ASK THE EMBASSY. MANY COUNTRIES IN ASIA HAVE VISA ON ARRIVAL. SO YOU JUST PAY THE VISA WHEN YOU GET TO THE AIRPORT
Yes. Either in person at the embassy in London, or queue up for hours at the airport when you arrive in Egypt. Your travel agent should give you details.
Yes, you definately need a visa to visit Egypt
You buy 2 stamps to stick in your passport at Cairo airport, costs £10.00. You must pay in hard currency, not local currency. Buy the stamps at the money exchange.
i not need visa for Egypt cause i'm egyptian, if you have english passport then you not need go to the embassy there in UK, you will get visitor visa on your arrival time and it is for 1 month stay, cost around 10 £ or = 15$, is avaliable to get the visa stap at the airport.
wish you nice trip.
yes, you do. When I first traveled there, we were able to get a limited visa at the border. But the 2nd time, we stayed for over a week and had to obtain one prior to travel.
I'd recommend checking the embassy info on their website: http://egypt.embassyhomepage.com/.
i will tell you the right thing . i ve been working in the airport.
first of all , all the european or the american nationalities don't need to go to the embassy , they can get the visa in egypt airports after landing easily ( about 20 usd , 20 euro , 20 GBP ) they need only the passport .
the visa is a little stamp that they put it on your passport ..very easy.
some nationalities can visit egypt with no need of the passport (netherland, france belgium ),they only need the id card and a passport photo.
you can visit sinai (sharm el sheikh without visa ) but u need visa if u wanna visit other cities and u can have it in sinai airport before your domestic plan and u pay the same fees mentioned above.
YES but you can usually get it on arrival, check with your travel agent.
when u arrive to any airport in Egypt, u just pay like 15US$ then you have a tourist visa on your passport. this visa i think is valid for 3 months, then if you want to have 1 year is on your passport, you get while you are already using your tourist visa, i think it would cost you like 200US$ for visa of 1 year with several entrance to Egypt..
good luck..
no.. u only get ur passport stamped at the airport
yes we did ours a few months before we flew that way we didnt have to queue at the airport and it was so much easier
