Are New Year's Eve parties/ events ticketed in Dublin?

We are a couple travelling to Dublin for New Year. Do we need to sort out tickets for street parties/ pubs before we go? Or can you buy on the door on arrival? Is the Street Party free entry? Is it any good?

Answers:
street parties are free and most pubs are too. it is usually cabarets and hotels that are ticketed.
Dublin is fantastic at New Year, different events are ticketed and it can tend to change annually, my advice would be to contact the Tourist information office Dublin, google it , maybe ill see u there. slan go foil agus ard mor art!!!!!
Come over to Glasgow.especially at new year.the best place in the world on hogmanay.
probably
Most Pubs & Clubs will only let regulars in,(LET THEM KNOW YOU ARE VISITING IRL,THERE ALL-RIGHT)anywhere else you would be better of getting tickets.Book your hotel & meals from now.the street party is what you make of it.Enjoy your holidays in dublin.
