Do you need a minimum bank balance before you can go work in the UK?!?
I wana go on a working holiday, but apparantly you need to have a certain amount of money before you can even apply. Who has gone on a working holiday in the UK?!

You have to be able to prove that, if you don't end up being able to find work, you are able to support yourself without recourse to social security. The amount you need is definitely in the thousands of pounds. I think I've heard ten thousand before but this sounds way too high.
The good news is that they only check your bank balance on the day that you apply. This means a lot of people borrow money (eg from family) to bulk up their bank balance for a short period of time. If you put it in just before you apply and take it out once you get the visa, they don't ask where the money is from or where it has gone to.

if your employer pays wages in cash no.if paid into a bank account you must keep a minimum balance in order two keep your account open.
You need to prove that you can support yourself whilst you are here. I don't know the full details but you should be able to find them on this site.or at least be able to contact someone in authority who can give you the correct information.

You need an entry clearance visa to reside and work in the UK for 2 years that I do know....and during that two years you are not allowed to have a UK bank account.
