Ont we put visas on americans coming to uk as they do to uk residents going to usa?

Answers:
Sure why not - I am an American and I have no problem applying for a visa.
No cos we own the UK.
you do not need a visa. We are part of their visa waiver program.
americans have to have visas coming to the uk if its for a long amount of time! i work for an airline and i checked a bloke in who was amercian who was married to a british woman and he had his old passport which had his visa in and his new passport which he didnt! they also have to be stamped to come into the country!
I think we need to deffently be stricter on visas like america and australia!
The U.K is part of the US Visa waiver scheme, we dont need visitor visa and the US citizens dont need them to come tothe U.K either, residency is different, the man with his old passport had his U.K residency Visa in it and thats why he had to have it along with the new passport, when he gets back to the U.k he just gos through passport control and they will check the passport thats it. All passport holders visiting the U.K will have entry dates affixed in their passports, thats normal.
Thats an idea
dont know its always puzzled me too
