What jabs do I need for India?

Going on holiday in two weeks time need some help?

Answers:
you've left it a bit late.but if you call your GP or NHS direct they will let you know what jabs you need. (some jabs have to be given a certain number of weeks/months to be effective) You might have to pay for some of them as well.
you could need one for rabis, and for hepatitis, tablets for malaria from mosquitos, and one for polio you should check with your gp.
No inoculations are required to get a visa. It is recommended that you have Cholera and Typhoid upto date. It is also good to have anti-malarial tablets/treatment. Although I have been numerous times without treatment and never caught malaria. I guess it is your choice if you want to risk it or not.
And future advice if you travel somewhere exotic again - sometimes you need 4-6 weeks before travelling to get jabs and for them to start working and ensure you are properly covered.
well you should get them earlier than 2 weeks so shuold have thuoght about it earlier.
i think you need
yellow fever, check this one chargeable i believe
tetnus booster unless you have had one
hep a
malaria i would have thought you need to take these 4 weeks before else they dont work, and if you dont 400 cases of malaria in the uk a year.
there is another one i cannot remember. check the internet and ring your doctor now, ask the receptionist or nurse she will be the one doing it anyways now!
good luck
You need 3 jabs. Malaria tablets also. the 3 jabs protect against 5 diseases. Your local GP/Nurse will do them for free.
JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PLENTY OF WATER TO DRINK AND PLEASE DON'TT AKE THEM MALERA TABLETS THEY GIVE YOU,SO LONG AS YOU USE A MOSQUITO SPRAY OR CREAM ON YOUR SKIN ITS OK.
TAKE A JAB YOUR DOCTOR GIVES YOU FOR CHICKEN GUNYA.
ITS VERY DANGEROUS DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS.I DON'T JUST KNOW YOU COULD END UP SERIOUS IN HOSPITAL.FIND OUT HOW MUCH YOUR DOCTOR KNOWS ABOUT IT.GO ON LETS SEE IF THEY KNOW WHAT IT IS IN THE UK.GOOD LUCK HONEY.HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY IN INDIA.
