Which one of the Greek Islands is best for a a family holiday?

Answers:
Limnos. There are more families there than on the other islands.
They can't get off.

Second best would have to be Lesbos. Specially if u r a gurrrrl.

Cheapest too You can have it for a song.

.
Go to Crete, its gorgeous!
athens which is the capital of greece
next best cofu but never been to either
Cyprus has something for everyone.

Limassol is my favorite place - as it's where I was born!!
Crete is very nice.
Cyprus. The greek half as you wouldn't want to be amongst a load of Island robbing Turks.
Crete is lovely, really nice beaches and scenery, traditional restaurants etc. Not alot going on with the nightlife, but presumably you wouldnt want cheesey discos on a family holiday
The Island of Cyprus is actually very interesting. The Meze is absolutely fabulous. Larnaca and Limosol <s> have great hotels and nice beach front. Costs were pretty good too! There are a number of historical sites to visit and depending on the time of year, you can even go skiing in the Kyrenia mountains.

I enjoyed the night life..loads of dancing and way too much oozo!

There are other activities for the family as well.including the greatest go cart track I'd ever been on and tons of Ice cream. Stick to the kabobs.the pizza's are terrible!
Zante is really nice and very children friendly - how old are you children as it is sutible up to age ?8/9.
Depends on the age of the children to be honest.

If you have young children you could do worse than to go to one of the islands served by Mark Warner (see link below). My idea of hell frankly, but the childcare is apparently second to none and affords the parents at least some time to themselves - good holidays if you like to be a bit action-packed which I guess most kids do. Mark Warner go to the islands of Kos and Lemnos.

If you're doing your own thing, then I'd go for an island that has enough to keep the children busy - this would have to be somewhere like Kos again, Corfu, or Rhodes as long as you avoid the real nightlife spots (if your children are young). If you want some nightlife for older children to go with this, then the above islands plus Spetses, or even Kalymnos and Santorini in season would be good. If you have young children that are happy with sun, sea and sand and you want a quieter life then I'd suggest places like Paxos and Ithaca (Ionian); Symi, Patmos or Leros (Dodecanese) or any of the Northern Sporades (Alonissos, Skiathos or Skopelos).

Enjoy !
Cyprus is a great place, got married there and is a very relaxed and easy going place. There is alot of history there is you are in to that but if you are in to the night life, it is very lively. Food and restaurants, lovely stuff and very reasonable for what you get.

Enjoy yourself to what ever Greek Island you go to!
The only Greek Island that I have ever visited is Kos - and it was absolutely superb! Having said that, I didn't take the children with me to that one.
I still have a hankering to go to Corfu in the spring - because of Gerry Durrell! Read his book 'My family and other Animals.' I would love to see how many of the animals and creatures that he found, I could find, too.
It probably depends on what your children are interested in - but Greece and the Islands are a bit cold at this time of year.
If it is at this time, choose sth in the south, as the weather will be much better. Crete is nice, but quite big. It is a unique island and with a lot of interesting places to visit. Only i don't know if children would find it that interesting. Something smaller in Cyclades would be better i think, but at this time it wouldn't be so warm i think. My personal suggestion would be Rhodes island :D it's a combination of gorgeous place and nice beaches, quite south so the weather won't be cold and also not too big. And it has tourism all year round like Crete.
Cyprus between January and April - ski-ing in the morning, on the beach in the afternoon! Great food, brilliant atmosphere, English more widely spoken than the Greek islands
You can go to Kefallonia, Ithaki, Lefkada.
The Ionian islands. They are quiter and great for families.
They also have superb natural beauty!
I have been to Kos and Corfu both at this time of year, the weather was lovely possibly just cooler at night.
Went to Kos with my family and it was great. Went to Corfu with a friend (also great!), there were alot of familys there too!
Rhodes is great for families, couples singles, does not matter. The people are very friendly & hospitable, the food is excellent & inexpensive, lots of good beaches as well.
kos
