What is the 1 thing that you should do when you visit Austrailia?
Hi, i will be visiting Austrailia in the next couple of years and i am very excited as i have never been before. Apart from the obvious landmarks is there anywhere special that you good people have discovered and would like to share with me?
Answers:
get as far into the outback as you can - and truly see some stars - it is one of the few places on the planet you can literally be a thousand miles from anywhere.
try to see the wildflower spectacular in WA in spring.
Take a shower
Go scuba diving apprantley!
I'm not sure but there is an amazing site that might be able to help you with any traveling questions.
ride a kangaroo
Go scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef. Its a whole different world under there. Absolutely breathtaking!
yeah dont get stung by a stingray
Come straight back home
hire a car and drive interstate
avoid the stingrays
Climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge, go to the fish market in Sydney Harbour and have fish and chips, go to the Blue Mountains, visit Byron Bay, dive the Great Barrier Reef. Apparently in some lagoons in the Blue Mountains there's come kind of rock formation but it's actually made up of some kind of crustacean or something, I've never seen it but it's supposed to be like watching moving rocks - which I admit doesn't sound fun but everyone tells me it's a must-see!
I live in melbourne, and to be honest, there isn't much here. In Sydney apart from the Opera house, harbour bridge etc theres not much cultural stuff. I guess it depends what your into. Uluru is a must if your into natural wonders, or Cape Tribulation in north Queensland, its a tour of the rainforest, excellent.
learn how to spell it first. Then come to my place, that's special.
take your bag from the airport.
More changes expected in next couple of years. Better post this question again on the day you fly.
I would check out the best restraunts and bars!
You should flush a toilet to see if the water really drains counter-clockwise!!
Scuba Diving and visit the outback.
LAND then check you have a return ticket.
go to the aussy zoo to pay respects to the croc hunter
Go to the Hunter Valley Vineyards
Go through customs. Its a must. Actually its compulsary. Here you will see the smiling happy faces of our goverment workers. After that, the second place you should visit is a taxi. Beware of the stench that may be in the taxi. Be prepared and bring a hankercheif to cover your nose. Thirdly i'd say your hotel to rest after the long flight. After that the 4th thing to do that is uniqually Australian is to eat an Aussie meal of a vegemite sandwich and some pavlova. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Visit the philosophy department at the University of Wallamalloo and ask for Bruce.
You should take me.
No trip to Oz will be any good without a drinking buddy.
Look, just pack your bag, bring an open mind, don't worry, there are a million places to choose from once you arrive, and probably 19 million people telling you where you should visit first!
There is no one thing to do in Oz as it is so vast and amazing. If you want to do the more unsual things try getting to the West Coast. It's vastness itself is astounding.
Some things to try are:
Sleeping under the stars in the outback (so many of them),
Tasmania - Fracynet Penisula, Hobart, Cradle Mountain
The train across the nullabor (wild camels out the window and not much else)
Sydney (goes without saying) and the Blue Mountains
Kangaroo Island - diving, remarkable rocks, seals, penguins, koalas, kangaroos
Climb the Gloucester Tree in Pemberton (if you dare)
Kakadu National Park - looks like Eden must have
Helicoper ride over the Bungle Bungles
Camel ride on cable beach at Broome
Margret river for surfing/ wine
Hope this helps and hope you have a great time - I am SO envious
That's TWO questions:
1) "what is one thing you should do when you visit Austrailia? "
answer: First, learn to spell the name of the country you are visiting (but, seriously, the one thing you should do is to have a sense of humour. We are a very relaxed, laid back, sarcastic but fun loving bunch over here)
2) "is there anywhere special . and would like to share with me?"
answer: everywhere here is special - so come over and be amazed.
Come to WA and see some beautiful gorges and picturesque scenery in the kimberly and pilbara. Karajini national park is great
the one thing you should do is have a shrimp on the barbie
Many great answers here, may I add 'bring your own water, we are running out'.
